Unfortunately for us non-members, we cannot use the DPCPrints sector or the site. DPC has been looking for sponsors for challenges. I think that they should sponsor themselves with something along the line of award winners that are non-members get their photo available at DPCPrints or get a free trial membership. That would definitely up DPC's business, as well as motivate more people to get the best photo possible. I know it would make me work harder. |

You could also just becoem a member to do all that. I haven;t been a member for that long & I wanted to right away but I didnt have the dough for it.
I have to admit that the more challenges I enter the better I get. THe prints is just a fun & nice feature to have incase you were looking for great prints of your own shot as well as encuraging others to support the sites & buy a print.
I like yuor idea but I think that it is one of the perks of being a member & also a good reason to become one.
Dunno where you are in the world but think about it!

I would like to sponsor up to 4 photographer amateurs from Macedonia who can't pay 25 $ membership (that is lot of money overthere), but not here in US! If someone can spend 300-500 $ for camera why not another 25 for membership! |

I think that is a really cool and generous idea, Pitsaman. I've seen other sites where people offer to sponsor those who can't afford it or are students, etc. Hopefully some people who really need it will hook up with you.
The problem with offering free trial prizes to nonmembers is what do you offer to the members? Because they've already paid the money, they aren't rewarded? |

This is very true, and that's where the problem lies. I do not have a credit card, for I am underage, so it kind of stinks that I can't sign up. The biggest frustration of mine is not being able to enter the member-only challenges, and I wish I could. Just having the shots online is cool, though so I am happy with that. Still, to get something out of submitting an excellent shot would make many of us happy :) |

You have not entered ANY challenges yet...I would enter all the open challenges that you can and see how you do, and how you like it.
If you love it, then speak to some admins about alternate payment plans. |

I joined last week and submitted entries to the Off-Screen Expectation challenge, as well as the Parallel Lines challenge.
Is it wrong to be a vocal newbie??? :) Thanks for the advice though Riggs.

It's not at all wrong to be a vocal newbie. You might want to take some time to read through the forums, though, as lots of these suggestions aren't all that new. :) |

I did not mean to come off as a jerk, because I am not.....but enjoy the site for awhile...see how you like it (and you will love it) then just see how things play out. Thats all I was saying.
I wish you the best of luck in your first 2 submissions ! |
