There are many varied and unusual ways to portray the concept of family. Creatively portray one. Voters are asked to withhold 1-2 points if the portrayal is duplicated more than 3 times and rewarded with an extra point if it is not duplicated at all in the challenge entries.

Use the same challenge except substitute the concept of:
fruits and vegetables or
places of residence or
richness., etc.

I don't think telling people how to vote is a good idea, just my opinion.

I'm guessing most non-participating voters don't read the challenge description anyway.

Exactly. And challenge descriptions aren't binding to anyone anyway, so what would be the point?

The challenges are what they are, the scoring is what it is. These things will never change.

Enjoy what is here, it's a pretty good site and does a pretty good job of keeping everyone amused. After all, we all keep coming back :)

I would add that while some out-of-the-box entries may not get the scores they deserve, there is invariably a group of people who see them and appreciate the creativity.
