I would like to make a video, suitable for you tube of a friend of mine who is a human statue.

I have in mind to use stills, and if possible to have more than one frame of stills running at once, ideally with frames running at different speeds.

Also I would like to add text and music.

I have searched the forums but i can't figure a form of words specific enough to get at what I'm after, and a google search just leads to a millio pages on how to make porno films.

Freeware would be nice, but I'd be prepeared to pay for a really good software.

Thanks

Windows? Movie Maker. Mac? iMovie. Though ultra low-end, they're both free, and good at what they do. Be prepared to spend money if you want multi-frame effects, if I understand what you want correctly. For example, Final Cut Express, the low-end video editing software from Apple, is a couple of hundred bucks.

Otherwise, Google. (If that results in a ton of porn hits, you're infected.)

Adobe Premiere Elements (PC only)
Pinnacle Studio (PC only?)
Final Cut Express (Mac only)

I've use Premiere Elements and Final Cut Express. Both have a similar interface and would do the job you want quite nicely.

Pinnacle Studio is similar to these but with a different feeling interface. Downloading the free trials and trying them will give you an idea which one you like better.
