I can't believe it's coming up already! I took these pictures yesterday. That's her actual party dress (yes, it's already bought!). On for the pictures, then right off before she could mess it up. LOL!

I'm playing photographer at my cousin's wedding today, and the smallest roommate turns 1 tomorrow. The camera hasn't been used this much in ages.

What lovely reasons to get the camera out! Congrats on both occasions! Hard to believe your new one is a year already.

Hi guys !

I know I don't get on here very often anymore, but I'm coming in today to do more than just say "hi".

You all remember Max - Quigley - he needs some good thoughts and speedy healing vibes right now.
Seems he took a nasty spill, and has possibly broken his ankle.

Oh dear. Poor Max! Here's hoping for a speedy recovery!

(Hi Lea!)

Just poking my head in to let you all know I'm still alive and kicking, just doing homework but itching to get involved again.

Oh no!! I'm hoping that the "possibly" turns into a definitely not! I don't remember giving him permission to break an ankle...

So, I'm having some serious dust issues on my sensor lately and my focus is all wonky. My camera is begging me to suck as of late. My pictures have been blurry and sucky as of late. It's good to be home...

Get well soon Max! I hope it's not broken!

Hey all, haven't been around much lately. Started a new job which is nothing but pure hard physical work 6 mornings a week, but now I'm fit enough to stand up to the job and have some gas left in the tank for later.

@ kashi...Thanks for the headsup re Quigley. Ow! Poor Max! What did he do to himself? Is he OK?

@ meyers...Thanks as always for posting the results...still a little bummed at the DQ but ah well...

Send some of that extra gas over here :) I had to go home and lie down today...

Come on, Quiggers, give us some news.

A positive note from our Deb?

Yes, I shot twice in the month of September - the snail for high key, the dandy for negative. Let's see if I can fit in three whole outings in October, shall we? :-)

I don't remember even having the ability to "DQ", unless you meant me not taking you to a nearby Dairy Queen..

Hello all remember me??

Well I'm sitting at home on my ass as it hurts to sit on my head :) My ankle is about the size of my knee (that's normal right?) and has kept me immobile since last Friday

night. Yes I was stupid enough to work on it all Friday as I had to get the roof finished that I was building for inspection and then I came home and iced it for two hours and

then went over to the hospital (they would have just made me wait for the swelling to go down first, right?) by the ear at the hands of my beautiful understanding wife. She

was nice enough to drive me over even though I thought she would make me walk (we live three houses away) and then she came back for me (I guess I'll keep her) when I

was released.

I have been given an "air cast" to get around on and was told that I could even work in it. What a pain in the ass and nigh on impossible to get around on, fine if you're just

sitting on you ass but walking and working blah. I have ventured out today and just wrapped my foot as if for a sprain and laced it up in my work boot nice and tight just like

the "air cast", low and behold I can walk, not fast enough to keep up with a kindergartner but I could give an octogenarian a run for their money. So I'm mobile again and

feeling better with myself as my hands (as well as the rest of me) have been very idle and I need to have human contact. What a social creature. I'll try and convince my wife to

help me get some shots of my ouchy and post them. I hear the colours are quite lovely this time of year.

Thank you all for your thoughts.

I can tell you from personal experience (and medical training) that if you continue to try and work on that ankle you are highly likely to have problems later on. If you continue to move/flex the joint, the ligaments which have been stressed and stretched will (eventually) heal, but longer than they should be, leaving the joint loose and unstable, and more easily subject to re-injury, usually a sprain. Really immobilizing it for at least 3-4 days, and icing for 10 minutes 3-4 times/day, can save you a lot of trouble in the future.

Good luck and get well soon!

Thank you Sir and I have indeed been keeping up with just that. Our room is now set up like I've been camped out in it for months. I have never been sick or even had the flu and as a result I'm the one that stays home and looks in on, and does for, the sick in our house. So when my wife said that I couldn't move for any reason other then to hobble to the loo my family set me up with a TV, several DVD seasons and movies, Isaac's laptop, ice packs as well as a cooler full of all the food I could ever need and loads of drinks because no one was home to get me anything. Then when they got home to regale me with the days events they would replenish any and all that I needed.

Family, got to love them.

MAX!

Sounds like a great plan -- keep it up. You never know, if you happen to be a "slow healer" you may be able to stretch this out for several weeks before they catch on. ;-)
