Well, that's the point, I'm planning to edit or re-edit some photos taken long ago, I feel quite "rusty" and even if I remember the basics I would gladly welcome tips, advices and most of all your help with new plugin filters (for example since my "return" I have read about Topaz). I can't afford to buy plugins now but sometimes there are trial versions and even some good freebies.
So basically my question is : which (plugin) filters do you like and recommend me?
Thank you ! |

What main editing software are you using? Some variant of Photoshop? You can find a lot of useful plugins in the freebie imaging software thread.
Topaz does offer 30 day trials of everything. I'd suggest adjust for certain. Maybe detail and Denoise as well.

Yeah, what Steve said.
You can do amazing effects without spending money, Essentialy, plugins just make various adjustments easier. You can achieve them in another fashion on your own in PS but it isn't so easy as a plugin. Just don't get stuck thinking it takes money to make good photos. To me, good photos stand for themselvses. |

I have Photoshop elements 7 (it came with the computer) and surely have somewhere CS2 or CS3 (a gift from my late godmother).

CS2 is pretty antiquated at this point. I just recently purchased Elements 8 and installed it it my current computer and use it over the CS2 I have in another machine. I also have Topaz that works well with Elements 8, but I'm not going to offer up any opinions on its usage as I'm sure most around here would pretty much call me a Topaz freakazoid.......8~) |

| I use CS. Must make me a stone age hustler. Waiting for GIMP to get to 16-bit. |

| I use CS2 - I have come nowhere near the limits of it so see no point in upgrading. Just sayin... |

I have access to CS 2 or 3, but I do 99% of my editing in Photoshop 5.0 (1998). |
