When I buy my canon 450d Would you recommend getting the canon kit lens 18-55IS and 55-250IS or just get one lens with similar zoom range such as Sigma 18-200 OS?
What are other options in lenses to get this same zoom range within about a £250 budget?
Ideally I want image stabilization.
Thanks a lot :)

Get the 18-135IS I have the 28-135 but with a crop sensor that 28 is not very wide. It runs around $400 but imho, is far better then the basic kit lens.

| I'd say the 18-135. It's a very good walkaround range when you want to not carry a lot of gear. Even if you get a longer zoom later, the overlapping range is good to not swap lenses as often. I just bought a lightly used 18-135 IS. As it is the 7D kit lens, you can probably find one for a great deal. I got mine for $250 from a Craigslist ad. Usual used price on Amazon appears to be about $350. Image quality is at least as good or better than the 18-55 kit lens, build quality is better. Reviews compare the image quality favorably to some higher end but older lenses, often with the 18-135 coming in as superior. I also have the 18-55 and the 55-250. I'm happy with them all. Good budget lenses. |

| Canon EF-S 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens is a good all rounder. 18mm useful for indoor group shots and etc. |
