Scalvert had posted a very helpful link to a list of cf cards and which were the fastest and best. However, that was in December 2008.

The camera store in town has stopped carrying Lexar and sandisk. They are only carrying Delkin. Claiming that Delkin is fast, better, more reliable.

They have a Delkin 32 Gb that's something like 430x speed.

I'm having a hard time finding a newer list that compares cards and their quality/speed. Any help/input would be appreciated.

That's the listing Scalvert had posted somewhere else -- but it's dated 12/08 -- some of the higher speed cards are not listed on it, and it doesn't have a review for the 7D. Does anyone know of a newer listing comparing the two?

(thanks, apercep -- I worry about that review, because in a link to another review, he claims that speed makes no difference in shooting, that he's only worried about download speed. I don't particularly care about download speed -- I want something that can write & buffer the 7D well. But the other reviews say it can make a big difference.)

The card-to-computer tests were actually updated in June of this year, and are pretty comprehensive. You will see a *lot* more difference on that test than in-camera tests. Any of the faster UDMA cards will exceed the needs of the camera. You can see this by looking at the camera/card combinations tested. Even in 2008, there was typically very little difference among the top 5 cards in any given camera, even ones with high data transfer rates.

One acronym. UDMA. You want fast, use these cards, if your camera accepts these type of cards, that is.

I got nervous and ended up getting the same thing I already have --

The SanDisk Extreme 60 MB/s -- just a larger capacity than I've ever had. I've never had a SanDisk die, and it's extremely rare that I fill my buffer. So I stuck with the known beast.

I think I'm going to hate the 32 GB, however. At least when I fill up an 8 GB in one sitting, I know that I'm taking too many pictures, and that's it's a clue that I'm shooting way too much. But now...

SanDisk is good. I've been using SanDisk all along. Previously several brand failed me, transferring NEF to my PC and corrupted some files. Those were cheap brand :(

SanDisk Extreme 32GB 60MB/s is good! 8 of 8 good reviews at amazon.com
