We used to have a thread several years back where one person would request a specific photo and you had to TAKE, edit (or not), upload and post the photo to the thread. First one to post got to request the next photo. It was like speed-shooting or something. It died out fairly quickly I think because of the effort involved, but it was fun. I am pretty sure this was a result of that thread.
eta: nearly 8 hours later, I feel pretty comfortable claiming victory.
