...The 24-70 is one that I will get when I can, that and the 100mm macro....

I haven't touched my 100 ever since I got a 24-70 years ago.

ditto. 100mm paperweight :P

Not me... I haven't touched my 28-75mm f/2.8 since I got the 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS... I'm about 50% 17-40mm and 50% 100mm, with nothing in between. Occasional forays into the 70-200mm, but not many...

That new IS version of the 100mm is just plain awesome.

My 100mm is just the regular macro, not L nor IS, while my 24-70 is L. I didn't know there was that flavour of 100mm as L, which I'll bet is very sweet.

The Not-L 100/2.8 already is excellent; the only thing they changed with the new L-100mm is the red ring i suppose

I would definitely say you should save up for the 24-70mm f/2.8L over the Macro for wedding photography.

I have a macro lens but still do my ring shots and flowers with the 24-70mm as it enables me close enough focus to get the kind of shots I want to get.

The 24-70mm is a fantastic bridal prep lens as well as a great wedding all rounder for close ceremonies and group shots. You already have the 70-200mm f/2.8IS and so those 2 lenses will get you through any wedding..... Until you get the bug for the fast prime lenses at least :0)

I will also add that whilst the 430EX's are 'OK' a 580EX is a massive improvement, I have two 580EX and a 430EX and the 430 is NEVER used.

Good luck

And added a hybrid IS system.

Yeah I think the 24-70 will be the better choice for my next lens, that will give me 2.8 coverage from 24-200mm. The Macro will be an addition to my equipment in the near future but I think I will knock out my last larger purchase first then start getting the cheaper(well cheaper then the 24-70 and 5D Mk II) stuff.

So what do you think as far as setup? Would you mount the 70-200 on the 7D or the 5D? If I put the 70-200 on the 7D that would give me a bit more reach with the crop sensor and the 24-70 on the 5D would give me a little more on the wide end with the full frame.

Mount it on the 5D, you won't need the extra range at weddings. You'd have to change to the 24-70 when you want to shoot groups, though.
