I bought a Samsung WB2000 (compact camera) last week, but I'm not happy with the HD video, and am thinking of returning it for something safer.
I'm also going to be buying an additional compact camera for the wife, which may help out in dealing.
Anybody return compacts there before? I can't find anything on their website.

The video problem may be my fault. The video looks OK and plays well in QuickTime. However, it does not import into my editing software, Premiere Elements 7. I found a solution, which was to convert the Samsung MP4 to and AVI, which opens in Premiere 7, but will not properly play to allow editing. Saving that AVI in Premiere 7 and re-importing it creates an editable file. However, the final output looks like crap. Too much handling, too much trouble.
I'm not willing to upgrade my laptop (Intel 2.0GHz dual core, 512MB NVidia, 4GB RAM) or editing software. :-(

| Thanks Jonathan, whew. I have plenty of time. Didn't bring it in today as I thought it would be too rainy. I have to decide on a replacement(s). |

Ya, oops. I was listening to the rain pelting down when my alarm went off this morning. I didn't want to walk over there in the rain. Of course it's nice & sunny out now. :-D

So you thought you heard rain while you were hitting the snooze button. But you needed to find out about the returns policy, so grabbed your laptop from the side of your bed, posted the question to DPC, and rolled over back to sleep - "DPC will sort it out for me... my bed's too cosy"
Something like that? |

Heh, no, posted from work in Toronto. I take the train in from Burlington, where it was raining pretty hard this morning. But, DPC did sort it out for me. :-D |
