OK, I swear I ask this every-time i calibrate my monitor with the Sypder,

but this time it went really ballistic on my ambient light and whites and made em turn my moniture up to 100% brightness.

So now DPC is sort of a light grey and darker grey, the words are royal(ish) blue,

does this seem about the right colours?

Sounds about right. The background is a light blue-gray, not quite saturated enough to be a baby blue. Upper menu bar appears a dark blue, could be described as a royal blue.

That's about right, yeah, if by "the words" you mean our names on the left, anyway... The type in the forums is black.

Exactly what I am talking about Bear.

Thanks Yo and Bear, I was just slightly worried after that white balance, cos I had had it on 55% brightness, and it made me ram it up to 100%

I am dreading looking at my recent edits now LOL

As well you should be, if you have just bumped brightness 100%, sheesh...

Bear, funnily enough, I could see no difference really.

Really odd, but I still produce gloomy black and whites even uncalibrated when I am uncalibrated. Even the colour shots are pretty good. Go figure!

If you print at the same store all the time, the best thing would be to print one of your images (one that has a variety of colors, or better still get a proper test image). Bring this home and see how it compares to your monitor.

For me, printing is the biggest headache of all.
