The rig ban has been overturned.....YEAH.....The judge that did this is a smart man. Don't punish the companies that are not associated with BP....Punish BP.

According to the same source, it might not even be that many. |
BP has 4 rigs in the Gulf and they are keeping them there. Shell has 4 as well and are keeping them there. I think Chevron has moved 3 of the rigs out.
The bigger companies can wait out the ban, the smaller ones will move to where the action is. |

The issue at hand is not whether or not BP should be punished, but rather one where there should be mechanisms in place to ensure that this type of disaster is not replicated. Until such time as companies can ensure that containment is possible, it is only prudent to proceed cautiously.

So, now another drilling platform is spewing oil into the gulf. How soon before we hear that it's somehow Obama's fault for not doing enough after the BP disaster? |

Why not? Everything was previously blamed on Bush, but Bush is no longer in the hotseat. |

Well, it's Bush's lax oversight over the oil industry combined with those activist conservative judges that shot down Obama's moratorium that caused all of this. At least I think that's how the right-wing playbook would spin this if it was in the other direction. |

One can sling mud in either direction. |

I guess I'm just skeptical and cynical, but the first explosion was suspicious to me.
This one reeks. They were in a "sale pending" with another oil company. Would there a be a benefit to either party to have an explosion? Drop the price, get out of having to buy it, etc? |
