Heya everybody, I recently got my MacBook, and am finding increasingly harder to switch over to my PC to listen to music as it drains so much RAM. Everything else works fine, but I'm going to need a music library organizer similar to iTUnes that works form Mac as well.
I dislike iTunes because of its constant connections to iPod and the iTunes store, also the way it organizes music is bad, it refuses to play .wma files, it's always trying to connect to the iTunes store, it has a horrible icon, you can't use hierarchal menus like in WMP and so many others, and the biggest problem of all is that it's way slow with my library of 20,000 songs. Overall, it's a horrible music library organizer for someone who does not wish to pay 1.50 for every song form the iTunes store and who is aware of things other then the software that was given to them when they bought there computer.
My solution when I was using Windows for music was MediaMonkey. Fantastic player, organizer with a completely customizable interface at a cheap price. I'm looking for something like this for Mac.
The bottom line, I'd like stronger alternative to iTunes that's built for the avid music listener, not the teenager who's parents gave them a 50 dollar gift card to iTunes so she can buy 5 albums. I have a massive library and I wish to have a place to store it without being bombarded by the advertising of Apple.
Thanks!
