I was photographing some product that I sell on ebay and my camera kept saying BUSY.... and would make me wait.

I wasnt shooting in super fast succession. I would snap the front, flip item, snap back, open item, snap inside.

My camera was set on 35mm and F5.6

I thought it might be the memory card so I tried switching cards (I have 4) and it did it with all 4.

Any ideas??

What camera?

Edit: Sorry, not used to looking at the camera models under names.

According to this:

//www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos1000d/page13.asp

The camera can only do 1.5 fps in RAW, or 3 fps in JPEG.

That is probably the flash recycling.

See your manual here and check page 58.

Hope that helps.

What ISO and shutter speed are your using? Is the High ISO or long exposure noise reduction turned on?

If you are using flash: Where does it say busy? Where the flash lightning bolt usually is in the viewfinder?

Yep, most likely the flash was cycling. I had issues with my old XSi in low light trying to achieve focus, too. Don't remember if the BUSY warning comes up during AF, though.

Did you try pulling out the battery for a moment?

My 350D did just this same thing last weekend, and pulling out the battery brought the camera back to its senses.

Look in the menu for "reset". If the computer gets confused, a reset can sometimes fix it. You may have to reprogram the date and time after you do the reset.
Charging the flash may have been what was causing the slow down.

Be sure you've updated. You can check your firmware version in your menu.
