Last night my wife and I went to a Fire Jam, and I wasn't sure but there might have been a purpleflutterby13 there.. Flash photography wasn't allowed, and I forgot my tripod, but I did have a fast lens with IS, and I think some of my pictures are worth sharing. I added a few to my portfolio.

I had to jump between two settings: longer shutter speed (half second?) and low ISO for fire trails, and a faster shutter speed (1/60 or 1/80) and ISO1600 for clearer pictures of the dancers.

I'm going to find it and DNMC! I hate it when people shoehorn freestudies! :P

Wow great work Rob! We really do appreciate all the effort you put into TS.

*scratching head* uhmm how on earth is it possible to enter a shoehorn in a FS?...

Great job, Rob. Good to see you have time to enter a shot in a challenge, even if it is a shoehorn :D

Someone explain shoehorn to me. I do not know what it means. Is that a dumb question?

Yo_Spiff is a master at the shoehorn! You know that an actual shoehorn is used to help you get your feet into a tightly-fitting shoe or boot, right? Well on DPC, a shoehorn is basically an entry that so marginally fits the descrip of a challenge that it is right on the line to bneing DNMC.

Hope this helps! :-)

Thanks Susan I was'nt sure. I thought it may be one that was just squeezed in at the last second or something. ;-)

speaking of spiff -- THIS is a shoehorn -- literally and figuratively.
