I often find egregious examples of bad grammatical skill.

I'm going to use this thread to post them. You may, of course, add your own or comment if you so desire.

--------------

You'd really think someone would have caught this before they actually printed the design..

I may be particularly thick, but I can't see where the obvious grammar gaffe is!

It's the word "cost", it should be "costs".

Edit:

Unless of course they're speaking in the past tense, in which case it would be correct as is, but I think it should be "costs" since you don't normally put up notices in the past tense.

That was the only thing I could identify, too, but since the expenses associated with the box were certainly in the past by the time the box, filled with whatever, reached the store, past tense seems appropriate.

Perhaps, then, ambiguous at worst.

And this is aside from the questionable wisdom of asking minimum-wage workers to worry about 75-cent costs to a ridiculously huge and profitable corporation.

I'm glad they came out with a wireless version. That long cord was really getting to be a hassle.
(Also spotted in a Wal-Mart)

I suspect the sign indicates that the item is available in the Wireless Department, no a wireless model ...

I've never understood how the public works departments who put up those "Slow Children At Play" signs get away with criticizing a whole neighborhood's kids' mental capacities ...

And then there are those signs that read REDUCED SPEED AHEAD... which makes me think that discounted methamphetamines are just up the road.

There was a sign posted at a workshop I was in earlier. I wish I could remember exactly what it said. It was made even more funny because it was a school system posting it.

Of course, but that's not how I read it when I walked in the store.
