Its been a long, frustrating few months for me. The wife and I seem to have to take care of everyone ranging from her kids who are grown and out on their own to friends and the help is of course all financial. Well she thinks we have to help even though the majority of the people we help blow their money on booze, casinos, shoes, make up and more booze. But when it's time to pay the electric bill they have no money. Time to pay rent? Sorry we need help.
A close, close friend of mine now has a broken neck from a car wrest Saturday night after getting hit by a drunk driver who decided that 3 am is a good time to drive without headlights.
I can't even run into a gas station for 2 minutes to get a drink without someone helping themselves to whatever is in my car.
And now the kick in the balls:
We were on Alltel, and here in Oklahoma City, Verizon took over Alltel. Well so we went to make the switch to Verizon's network and at the time I had a good amount of money on me for a phone. I wanted the Motorola Droid. The phone would be perfect for all of the contract work I do with IBM and Dell since they send me 1,000's of varying paperwork. So being the trusting fool I am, I let the guy working there talk me into the Samsung Rogue. Now mind you, it's not a smart phone, but according to this jerk the Rogue would have 1,000s of apps to make up for not being a smart phone and would fit my needs perfectly. Bull shit! I have had the phone for several months and there are no new apps other than a few games. The phone power cycles itself for no reason and will not even update it's own software!!!!!!!!! I missed out on a huge high paying contract project because the phone decided it would turn off in the middle of my call. The email function of the phone doesn't want to connect 50% of the time and when it does connect, I can't access my attachments that I need. I asked about the email before I got the phone and the Verizon guy swore it can access any attachment besides programs. Documents? Check Powerpoint? Check Pictures? Of course! What ever!!!! I can't get any of them.
So I called Verizon after I sent an email that was never responded too. I spent an hour explaining the whole situation. See, I called because a friend had a similar problem on AT&T, and after a few phone calls, they gave him a 16gb Iphone for free just because of the trouble. I never expected all of that from Verizon, but after being misled and lied to, the least I asked for was a phone I would want at a reasonable price. The Droid X is retail $559 and I just can't afford that. Hell I can't even afford generic $14 photo editing software for myself so I don't have to use the neighbors photoshop all the time.
I spent a total of half an hour on hold and kept hearing the Verizon loves the customer ads they play, and was told that either I needed to open a new line on our account to get the phone cheaper or to deal with what I have. Really? I don't need another line added to our account. We have 5 already. I was also suggested to look at ebay. I have never had luck buying a used phone from ebay. Cracked screens, broken buttons, and one wouldn't even turn on! So I looked at new phones and they sell higher than retail on Ebay. I mentioned all of this to customer support and told there is nothing he can do.
I get misled and lied to so I'm the one who has to pay for it? AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go suck it Verizon! I would switch to another carrier but that would cost a minimum of $1,250 if not more and then the cost for new phones there. I'm so screwed that my ass literally hurts!
Ok, got that out. Maybe I'll feel better later after I go see my friend Captain Morgan.
