FYI for those waiting to buy NC8700. Just saw this on the web (this is not mine). See pix here.

In PS, try adding saturation on the magentas side.

But the CA I believe is not as obvious as the Sony 828 :)

If you go to Steves Digicams look up Canon Powershot A1. He has pictures from 828, Nc8700, and the Canon A1. I believe the Canon has the CA under control the best. And it has just slightly less noise.
My thought is the Canon A1 looks quite good.

Took one of the photo, adjusted saturation on all at 100+ Magentas. Click here for the result, sorry I have to decrease the quality to 50% to save disk space. But I see its a close call b/w Canon and Nikon while Sony is the most obvious one that has CA issue :)

If you are concerned about purple fringing and/or chromatic aberation in a 8 mp digicam check out the Minolta DiMage A2. It also has by far the best EVF.
