Hi.
I want to buy a cable release that has a shutter lock for my Dimage. I was wondering if anyone's gotten one and where they got it from. The cable releases that I've seen for that camera are the kind that you hook on to the back of the camera but I don't think that one is able to lock the shutter for bulb exposures. Thanks.

I've got a standard Minolta one (RC1000 I think?) - it has a slider that lets you lock the button down for bulb but to be honest I haven't tried it on the DiMAGE yet (works fine on my SLR though).

{Edit: the 7i doesn't seem to HAVE a bulb setting, max shutter of 4secs}

As for where I got it, I just walked into a local photography shop.

The 7ihi (and I presume the 7i) does indeed have a bulb setting, but it is only accessable in manual mode. The max shutter of 4 secs only applies when the iso is set to 800. (iso 400 - 8 sec max / iso 200+100 - both 15 sec and bulb settings possible)

Well that'll teach me to have such a quick look at it!

You're right of course, and I can happily confirm that the standard Minolta cable works just fine for bulb shots.
