Toy Story III (in IMAX 3D) - 10/10
Riley's first experience in a movie theater - he was riveted and his obsession with all things Toy Story has been renewed (mission accomplished, Pixar!). My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. |

The Escapist 8/10 - Prison break movie with a new twist, great acting and great cinematography. Joseph Fiennes and Brian Cox are excellent.

Alice in Wonderland 7/10
The story line was pretty basic but I loved the costumes and effects. I was able to watch it on the plane on the way home from vacation, so I didn't have to toture my husband into watching it with me. |

RocknRolla- 8/10
Very entertaining movie.
It's a humorous con story that involves a stolen painting, a RocknRolla stepson and many nutty characters. The plot is actually not very surprising or unique but I still managed to love it.
There are somes scene that can't be missed like the chase scene by the unstoppable russian henchmen.
The problems some people might have is the editing and the brit humour. |

Nosferatu - 4/10
Was about to watch Shadow of the Vampire with my daughter, a movie about the making of Nosferatu, and figured we should watch the original first. Lot of love for this movie on IMDB, but we just couldn't see it. too long and drawn out. Amazing job of makeup/costumes considering the year (1922) but the acting is just terrible.
(note: rocknrolla gets a 9/10 from me guy ritchie keeps getting better and better) |

I second this in its entirety. After it was over I literally hobbled to the bathroom and peed for, get this (I timed it), a minute and ten seconds. I knew I had the potential for a record by how bad I had to go so I started the old stopwatch. I think my previous record had been somewhere around 50 seconds in college. :D |

Doc, your next task is to measure volume. I will decline to share my own record in the name of avoiding a TOS violation.
Lest I be guilty of thread derailment: Monsters, Inc., 7.5/10. Fully enjoyable, cute, intelligent enough for an adult audience, glad I saw it, not dying to see it again any time soon. |

I occasionally buy used movies (<$5); the last two three which Isaac and I watched were The Sting, Born Yesterday, and Dr. Strangelove ... (I only buy movies which are "educational" in nature) -- I suppose they all get a nine or ten from me ...
Next up: The Manchurian Candidate (original, suppressed version) |

In medical school they try and teach you to pay attention to things like that. Makes me wonder though, whether at some point there he had an internal debate about whether to specialize in immunology or urology ... ;-)
A friend of mine (an ER doctor at Kaiser at the time, now primarily a photojournalist) told me about a urologist he knew who had a hidden microphone in the restroom so he could record the patients' "piddle patterns" as an aid to diagnosis. |

ip man and ip man 2. both excellent movies. both about 8.5 to 9 in rating. best Kung Fu movies I've seen in a while.
ip man is someone's name. its not a superhero movie. he trained Bruce Lee for a while.
highly recommended by me.

It was one of those college guy "pissing contests" (literally). :) I haven't timed another in the twenty years since, but I was so hobbled I knew I had to record it for posterity... |

This is where I refrain from making a comment about anteriority. |

Clash of the Titans (2010) - 6/10
I was a big fan of the original. This one was ok. About what I expected - no more, no less.
Death at a Funeral - 7/10
Great cast. Pretty damn funny. |

Toy Story 3 - 9/10
I cried. You will too.
Inception - 0/10
Excruciating. 2 hours of torture. My OCD got so bad I felt like vomiting, and it's been a long time since a film was so bad it made me want to throw up.
And yes, I did understand the concept and the plot. It reminded me of The Matrix (they even had a mini-neo lookalike running around), except with no character development, mediocre special effects, and a poor plot. Complex for the sake of complexity. |
