Should be just like folding up one of those sun shields that goes in your car window.

Which is what I bought a couple of years ago ...

I still wonder about three (at one point) vendors selling these things off at the low price. Likely they are all manufactured by the same place.

But it still makes me wonder if some Revolutionary Hi Res Retina Reflector with really cool Silver Metal Edges is coming out soon. If you don't hold it right, it will stop reflecting. [Note from manufacturer: all reflectors will stop reflecting if you don't hold them just right. It is not unique to our Revolutionary Retina Reflector. Lawsuits against naysayers will be vigorously prosecuted. Regards, Steve Jobo]

The seller whose products chromeydome posted (New Harbor) has a lot of them (click that link to go to the "Storefront").

$8.99 for the 32"/80cm ones
$9.99 for the 41"/110cm ones

They also have lighting kits (strobes, spots) that are probably horrible, and tripods which are probably even worse. Don't forget the battery grips, IR remotes, close-up rings, filter-ring wide/tele converters, etc.

Oh, and umbrellas (they have gold ones too, just click around)!

Anyone else get th wrong product :-/ Got a non name 80cm (bout a foot shy of 40" for those stuck in dark age measurements:) instead of a branded 40"..... Just hit the contact seller button :-(

Haven't gotten mine yet. Amazon does not show any status ont he order, so I'll let you know when it gets here what I got.

On a similar note, I ordered some Ultralast batteries on Amazon for a Rebel Xt. Ultralast being a brand I have previously bought and been happy with. The batteries that came were generic no-names. They are probably just fine, and are working well so far, but were not what they were advertised as, so I left a mediocre product rating explaining this. I got an e-mail from the vendor yesterday explaining they come from the same source as the Ultralast batteries come from, and offered me a 25% rebate on my order to change my feedback. I will update the feedback to indicate the batteries have worked well, and are a good value for the price, but they still are not what was advertised.

I ended up getting a no-name one from eBay 'cause I had some eBay bucks. Expected shipping time to Europe: 30 days.

Mine just arrived. It is also a no name 80cm model. Seems decently made, and I feel it's a good value for $15, but not being what was advertised is going to get some negative feedback.

Yeah same thing I got.

I just left the following seller feedback, and a slightly modified version on the product page:

The product was not what was advertised. The item I received was a generic brand 80cm (about 31") reflector, rather that a 40" Westcott model. It does appear to be decently made and certainly a good value for the price, but I cannot give better than a fair rating due to the misleading and inaccurate product description.

Let's see if they try to persuade me to change my rating like the battery vendor.

Well that's unfortunate. I'm not a fan of Amazon (they once sold me a "refurbished" Kitchenaid Professional mixer... with cookie batter still on it), but it seemed like a good deal if true. :-/

A touch OT here, but, speaking of defective items....

I bought four bottles of a really nice tequila in Albuquerque and when I got home I noticed one of the bottles was empty.. and the odor of tequila was obvious..

It appeared that a defect in the hand=blown bottle had left a spot that was super thin and broke very easily..

Since I had been in contact with the company's rep, asking who their distributor was, I decided I'd let them know that their bottles were defective..

The rep replied very quickly asking what color the bottle was (turns out I had gotten a bad batch)... And there is now a new bottle of tequila waiting for me to pick it up :)

Mind you, I never asked for any replacement.. Very good customer service..

In other news, I'm still waiting on my 1W blue laser, it's been about a month now hasn't it? Not much to do but wait, as they are struggling to produce enough, and are backordered super bad....

Well that just sucks.........I'm glad I didn't buy one.

well, about a year ago I ordered from the same link at amazon, paid 30 bucks before shipping to get a "branded" reflector. If I receive basically the same thing for 15 bucks with shipping, only no brand, I guess I'll be okay with that.

I left feedback similar to Steve and it didn't take long for them to contact me with an offer. If you ordered this item and they sent a different one leave feedback to that affect and they will likely contact you.

I'll check my email and see if they knocked. Not sure I'd change the feedback though. It was honest.

Yeah... They offered me $6 refund... some BS about changing suppliers. Just replied again more then suggesting that will not work.... It's decent value and seems an ok product but I cannot stand how they get away with this stuff, plus I don't have lot of use for a smaller one.

I received the same no name 80cm reflector yesterday. I will be leaving negative feedback also. Even so, this one will work fine for me. Like others, I expect to get what was advertised though.

They offered me a full refund and I get to keep the reflector

Interesting. I have not been contacted by them at all.
