In an attempt to stimulate some good challenges again. I think it would be a good idea to post our favorite challenges that we loved to shoot for, enter and vote on and challenges that we thought we really learned from. I didn't enter this one but I wish I had:

Fast Food

Rubber Ducky has always been my favourite.

It was very restricted, but it was that very restriction that brought out an amazing amount of creativity.

I have to agree with Beetle on this one... the restrictions and the number of props that needed to be incorporated in the image were all factors that had to be considered. These coupled with the mere fact that the primary subject was something as inane as a rubber ducky, were all factors that in my humble opinion added the the creative input of so many of the players.

Can't say that I agree with FocusPoint regarding the Nude challenges since it seems that only body perfect females were considered the acceptable norm... a perspective I can't say I share.

Rejected movie posters was a lot of fun both creating my entry and seeing everyone else's results in voting.

Rubber Ducky brought me my first Top Ten. ;-Þ

I really think that FocusPoint had his tongue firmly, as they say, in cheek. ;-Þ

From what I can tell, challenges that give you direct subject matter to shoot give results with better creativity involved rather then just aim for a high score. Fast food, rubber ducky, nude, 47 steps and blurry mess all give you something SPECIFIC to shoot at, helping people with their photography. :D

Hope site council sees this!

I disagree, I think the better works comes from more open challenges, especially those that encourage people to move away from typical high scoring images. Challenges like 'Blur' and 'Fine Arts' make for a great voting experience and do wonders for showcasing the diversity of images DPC actually hosts - I'm not sure you normally see that diversity on the front page.

I have to agree! As well as these challenges: Triptych, Demotivational Poster, 5 things (can't find the link - this one listed things like grapes, duckies, etc and you had to shoot all five things, and dare I say it Straight From the Camera.

I have no doubt that FocusPoint had his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, but I nonetheless stand by my comments regarding the "body perfect females".
