I don't have time to look right now, but are you sure it's just not a setting that got messed up by accident? That seems a little odd...

I don't think so. I can't find anything in the manual that says that you can turn it on or off. I may be missing something.
Thanks

Thanks

Canon has a menu item called "focus assist" which turns the green light on and off, but I don't remember exactly which menu it's in.

The green light works. The red AF in the view box do not,but I can change the focus point on the LCD display. I just cannot which one is being used when I look through the viewer.

I think I accidently turned that off once too. I just went to the restore factory settings setting & it fixed it. Have you tried that? Just make sure you write down any custom things you have set up so you can put them back.

Yes, I've restored orginal setting, and they're still not working.

awww!! The 7D uses a different battery than my 40D. I just arrived, and now I have to wait 2.5 hours for the battery to charge. The suspense is killing me!

Nope, I'm figuring that Melethia's supposed decline (I still don't think she's declined) was because of the 7D. I've already started the decline this week just considering the 7D. :)

No, Melethia's decline is simply due to not being a phenominal photographer. Nothing to do with the 7D whatsoever. Yours should ribbon for you in the coming weeks!

No, Melethia's decline is simply due to her not believing she is a phenonemal photographer! Nothing to do with the 7D whatsoever!

Oh. *I* believe I'm a phenominal photographer. I'm enjoying a series of photos of mine that rotate on my desktop at home, none of which broke 6 but all of which look freakin' awesome as desktops. I think I freakin' rock. It's YOU lot, the wicked nasty evil voters, who haven't a freakin' clue!

Now let's just back up the bus here a little Deb. I love your photography and I have EVEN in voting, I think you ROCK!!!!!

In fact I too a few (well fifteen) minutes and did a quick look through your shots (man you have a lot) and in the 42 that I found that had votes from me the average was 7.1035, so put

that in your pipe and watch it burn (I know you don't smoke anymore :)

Much love

Oh, Max, thought of you the other day... I've begun a slow but sure marathon to re-watch all of "Due South". Any chance you've ever met or worked with Paul Gross? Yeah, I know, it's a BIG country, but a small cadre of actors... :-)

I've been seen for a couple of things he has done but I wasn't right for the parts, sorry. If I ever get the chance again you'll be the one that I let know first.

Today I got out on my bike with my camera bag with the express intention of finding something for one of this week's challenges. It's been a long time since I chased a vision for DPC.
