Okay, I already know that Windows 7 does not like Photoshop 7. It keeps crashing on my new computer. Basically I can't do any advanced Photoshopping. Windows 7 won't let me.
So, what I want to know is will Windows 7 do the same thing to Office '97? Does anyone have both Windows 7 and Office '97? |

I may have an older copy at home. I'll have to look. I use OpenOffice these days, however. Its a current piece of software that works with Win7, handles the MS formats, and it's free. |

Which version of Win7 are you running, specifically is it a 32-bit or 64-bit version?
You can fix some (not all) compatibility problems by changing the compatibility settings. To do so, right-click on the executable file. There should be a compatibility option in the dialog that opens (can't remember the exact choices, I'm not near a Win7 machine at the mo). You can select the OS version for compatibility from a drop-down list. Select WinXP SP3 and hopefully you should be rid of some or all of the compatibility problems.
ETA: for Office, you'd need to set compatibility for each application's executable separately, e.g. Excel.exe, Outlook.exe, Winword.exe, Powerpoint.exe...

Is that for Photoshop Kirbic because, if it is, I could kiss you. I have the 64 bit version of Windows 7. |
