Hi folks,
(windows only for the moment)
I'm delighted to let ye know that I've been working on a program over the past few weeks that is, in few words, an automated application version of the spreadsheet on klkitchens's profile page.
Borrowing SDW's idea I made a google sites page for it here (some screenshots here).
It's a nice little program that works cleanly and generates the graphs that I linked to the other day. You can also export the generated votes to a csv spreadsheet if you want to play with them yourself.
It's no coincidence that I'm posting about it 2 hours and 48 minutes before the start of the next challenge!
Download it. Run it. And have fun staring at it! :)
If anyone's curious about how it works I'll reply to your later rather than bore you with a long message, but there's a brief user guide here.
Niall
PS: I PM'd Langdon about this.
PPS: For
That was generated

I doubt you'd get anything good - if it's missing votes it generates them with a constrained normal distribution about the average.
If you click on the appropriate tab for the challenge you've entered there should be a 'generate stats' button that generates those for ya.

Do you see anything like this? link? If you do select the tap pertaining to your entry's name and click the generate stats button. You might need to do a reset for it... but I'd be surprised if you did.
It only works with currently entered competitions. Are you entered any this week?

Most curious.
Try closing the program and reopening it. For me it seamlessly scrapes the entries. Hmmm.

Ah balls. There's something wrong -- that's the problem when you don't try it clean.
Let me at it for a few! :)
Edit: Found the bug. It was a problem with my using the same directory for weeks. Fix coming presently.

Weird that it works for you and not Mike, eh?
Hmm. I'm able to replicate his problem here. It's awkward...
Also, Caree: The things it generates for ya there aren't real votes. It's random votes to make up for the ones it missed. If ya leave it on over rollover you might see something interesting!

I wish I had something like this for my phone. LOL Yeah Im addicted. I like the graphs and such too. Im to lazy to do the excel chart. I keep forgetting to do it.

Yup. That's right. If ya leave it runnin' it should grab 'em all.
What kind of phone do you have? I've half-plans to do something for androids too if you have one.

It saves what it got to a file, so all it messes up is the ability to get new data between your turning it off and turning it back on again.

the program will try to intelligently fill in the gaps that you miss, though. So don't panic!

I'm not sure what the problem you were having was. I was able to reproduce your problem. If I try the new version from scratch it grabs the data it should now. I'm still not certain what the problem was. I think I may have uploaded an old version by mistake. Sorry 'bout that.
So delete everything you downloaded before, and redownload this, and it will hopefully work this time!
