I gave out four 10s, all of which received a longer-look comment:

I was absolutely captivated by 'Puddle Navigation' but at 230th:

The goes to Aperturejack for .

I gave out five 9s, four of which attracted 'longer-look' comments:

All of the above make me reflect critically on my own (dull) offering - I have something particular in mind for July but after that I am going to pursue some quirkier stuff for the Free Studies. Consider me inspired!

I recently ran an experiment encouraging you all to "Narrate Your Photo." See the Original Thread here. The idea was to describe what you were doing, thinking when you took your photo and possibly how you "made" it in post processing. By recording your thoughts in the "Details" part of your photo entry, it would enrich the photo for others and maybe teach.

My thanks to all who supported my notion of narrating your photo. I love how these narratives enrich the photos and shed light on the photographers' intent and what they did to "make" the picture. All who entered receive either an Inaugural or Nominee award.

In the end, the choice of who would receive the Purple Prose Award was too tough. So both Bassbone and odriew win the Purple Prose Award for these. Congratulations!

Divine Symmetry by Bassbone

L'heure Magique by odriew

They are great photos but they win the award because they are enriched by a great stories. Be sure to read their stories!

I didn't vote the FS this time around (and you all should be glad - I've been cranky) but oh this is worth another look or twelve!

Some really interesting stuff in Chaos, quite a challenging concept. There were a few I enjoyed and scored highly that finished lower than I would have thought:
