Heading to the keys for a short trip... Any hot spots I should check out? I am thinking the 7 mile bridge at sunset, other than that I am going in blind.
Any help would be nice! Thanks in advanced!!! |

If you can, make it to the Dry Tortugas... It's amazing.
Isla Morada, if you have the $$ you should stay at the Moorings Resort, although you will be required to keep all of your photos private as per the agreement with the resort (you might be able to sell them on a bit of publicity via a challenge entry...)...
Pierre's in Isla Morada is amazing, the food is probably the best in the keys, and the upstairs outside balcony is MAGICAL at sunset- see my best of 2009 entry...
Hope to see your photos soon!

I already have my cousin living there so we are crashing at her place while we are down there. The food like you said is good basically anywhere you go down there (I went before I got hooked on photography) and remember the food was REALLY good! Isle Morada if I remember correctly was pretty expensive to even breath in! Haha! I am thinking just places along the road or something to just be able to stop and get a few shots in. |

It helps that she is making 6 digits a year to start! Haha! Pharmacy school pays off! She now works for CVS as a pharmacist there. |

Maybe... Only thing is though it will not only be me but also my mother, brother and his wife. I am not sure if she will be willing to pick up a check that large! Haha! But yes I will see what I can muster up. :) As for photography goes, Isle Morada is all you can think of?

Like I said, Dry Tortugas was awesome, really wish I had better equipment along with me at the time...
The reef there was amazing, I should really post some pictures sometime..
Key West had some nice photographic opportunities, especially for street photography..
Beyond that.. The old bridge sections can be quite fascinating, if you have a model, there's a spot where you can get off onto one of the old sections and go a ways out on it, that would be GREAT with a 85 f/1.2... hehe.. :)
In effect, the entire place is great, key deer are cute as hell, you might see one or two if you're lucky, and there's an amazing variety of living stuff. But I'm afraid I've spent all my time in Islamorada, Key West and the Dry Tortugas... |

Hmm... I have seen the little deer there but when we stopped to get a closer look they ran as if I had a shotgun cocked and ready to shoot! It was strange because I remember hearing them being really people friendly (by that I mean they are not a skiddish). Maybe I can take some photos of my brother and his wife (pending on whether or not they are willing to get on the other side of the camera). Thanks for the advice again! |
