It's a decent image, but it's not the classic Absolut advert style voters were looking for. If you are after a ribbon, study the current ribbon winners on the front page and / or in past (similar) challenges (and all their comments) and look at your potential entries and see how they stack up. I often thought I had a decent photo, but when I start comparing it to what wins ribbons, I can see everything it lacks.
Occasionally you get lucky though. ;-) Hope that helps a little. |

I find that the subject - the Vodka is a very minimal part of the image. That may have hurt you (I did not vote this challenge). When I first opened the image, my eye drifted first to the red leash, then to the shoes, then thirdly the vodka. Hope this helps.....oh and what ArtRoflmao says (he knows what works here better than I do). |

Well, none of the ribboning images looks like a classic Absolut Ad, do they? (Karen's is close, though, and there are some in the top10)
This one reminded me of the "Absolut Accessory" ad, another really classic one, but the seting of your image isn't well chosen (just look at those tiles...) |

You've got some high scoring entries and a nice high site average that I may never achieve. It'll come. I would suggest not worrying about a ribbon and just work on improving what you like. Compete against yourself for better than you did last time. It will come on it's own eventually, and will be a pleasant surprise to you. Trying to predict what will have broad appeal to others is a losing game IMO. |

I agree with Shutterpug; maybe if you had taken it from a different angle....like on the floor? Also the leash looks like, well like it's been used; the shot would have looked better with a new leash, or at least by taking the knot out of this one. And h2 mentioned the tiles....
I do like your take on this, the shoes and the dress and she's got great legs.
Keep working it....you'll get there! :-) |

I agree about the lower angle thing. Ads are supposed to feature the product and this doesn't By lowering your camera clear to the floor the bottles will appear larger than life. Look most of the top 10 for example. When you shoot a good rule of thumb is to at least shot one shot from your subjects "eye level" I always do that as well as one above and below. Below creates power for the subject while above creates a weaker feeling. |

the main focus should been on the bottle. In this picture it was not. |

The legs and shoes are nicer than the dull bottle and take attention away from the main topic:-) |
