Blackwater is an amazing place! I've been there twice now and the number of birds you can see is astounding. I don't think it's possible to NOT see at least one Bald Eagle, though whether you can get a good shot of one is another story ;-) We went out there in late afternoon and came back early the next morning. In the afternoon we got to watch Ospreys and their babies, and one dad coming in with a fish (and then taking it away ... you should have heard mom and the kids complaining!). Also saw bazillions of Great Blue Herons and Tree Swallows. In the morning we found Bald Eagles in a picturesque tree, a flock of Tree Swallows in the middle of the road (that was after we had to wait for a Box Turtle to cross the road LOL), a pond full of Great White Egrets, dragonflies by the score, Red-headed Woodpeckers staying mostly out of camera range, a Barn Swallow nest in a little wooden photographer's blind, and an adorable baby raccoon who was calling for his mama. Paradise for nature photographers :-)

Here's one eagle shot I like:

And a Tree Swallow, because I can't resist trying to get them in flight:

A Great White Egret:

And numerous Great Blue Herons:
