RE this challenge: //www.dpchallenge.com/challenge_submit.php?CHALLENGE_ID=1232
"Come up with an Absolut advertisement. Like the advertising campaign, your photo does not need to have an actual vodka bottle in it, only the bottle shape."

Advertisements normally have words and slogans in 'em. But I think they're against submission guidelines. Will we be allowed add them for this?
And in relation to it not having to be a vodka bottle... can it be any kind of bottle? Like a wine/whiskey/gin. Just so long as it's a bottle shaped

Danke.

Text is not allowed.

What it means by "you don't have to have a vodka bottle" is that many of the ads show the shape of the bottle, not the actual bottle itself.

Absolut Ad examples

I hope this clarifies.

:/
Guess it does. Don't like vodka so probably won't purchase a bottle to enter. I was hoping you would say it's bottle advertising rather than absolut.

All the absolut ad's have like "absolut 100" or something, just use your title of the image

I suppose I could interpret 'your photo does not need to have an actual vodka bottle in it' to suit my purposes :)

Are we really, really sure that text isn't allowed in the Absolut ad? I mean, as a graphical component, an Absolut ad isn't an Absolut ad without a witty text element.

I'm sitting here thinking that if I put text in, I'll be DQ'ed. But if I leave text out, Murphy's Law states everyone else who knows better and has been here longer will know something I don't about how to interpret the rules and put text in anyway and I'll be left behind. :)

Text inserted into the image post processing is not allowed. If you are very creative - figure a way to add the text as part of the initial exposure and then you will be fine (and likely rewarded for your creativity).

Text is definitely NOT allowed. If it were it would say so in the extra rules and it doesn't say. If you add text you WILL be DQ'ed.

For this competetion I am planning to do following steps. Let me know if these steps are permitted or not
1. Cropping
2. Adjust brightness / contrast
3. Use Gradient
4. Use Filter -> Stylize -> Find edges.
5. Invert Color

if you have concerns about legality the best bet is (in advance) sending the file and processing steps to the site council via help, general inquiry. might be a little late for this challenge however....

#4 is a potential trouble spot, as this filter, when used to an extreme, produces a graphic-arts effect that might be ruled illegal. In moderation, it would probably be fine.
