Ahh, yes, that helps quite a bit. The calculation of the points was a total mystery to me. Now it's a bit clearer.

But how does the average score (col. 8) affect the points in col. 9?

Thanks!

As always, thanks! No time yet to read the whole story, but perhaps there should be more weight to the number on entries, since it's "easy" to post one good photo, but who can beat the 55 skewsme posted?

The same way entries (col. 6) affects the points in col. 7. I have sorted column 8 from the highest average in descending order. As you can see the user with the highest average received the most points, 2050. But since the user has not entered as many challenges their ranking is 504th. It take a combination of all three (entry, average, and percentile points) to rank high.

I think it's weighted appropriately. As you can see in the example chart above the top 6 averages consist of 1 entry each. But yet they rank in the low 500's. There is know way to compete with a good average and only one or two entries. The ranking system was setup to reward users by the amount of challenges they enter. We all know it's hard to maintain a high average each time you enter a challenge. I don't think a user entering a few challenges deserves the top rank over a user that has entered a lot of challenges and has maintained a good average and percentile. And at the same time the users that have entered minimal challenges but have had a high score should be ranked better than a user that has entered a lot of challenges but consistently scored low. (Just my Opinion).

The bold part is the key thing. This is entirely Scott's initiative, and the rankings reflect his personal ideas regarding how to combine *participation* and *performance* into a single stat. I think he's done a remarkable job, and I thank him for it :-)
