THAT is a really good point.

Haha! Brilliant.

Quintus, I think I've given a 1 and a 10 in each competition I've voted in. I still disagree with trending things for the sake of it. I don't feel I have to give fewer 10s than 9s just because 10 is better than 9.

ya'll make my voting seem so nice LOL

I rarely give 1's and 2's (unless its obvious you want one)
3's are for the ones that make my eyes hurt
4's are for poor quality snap shots
5s are for high quality snap shots
6's are for decent quality photographs
7s are for high quality photographs
8's are for ones i consider high creativity and high quality
9's are my OMG I wish I could do thats!
and 10's are my top 3 faves (5 if its a tight race)

Many do use it as a ranking system, which means that the vote an entry receives is not based on how good it is, but on it's relationship to everything else. Using this system, a pretty good shot can rate a 4 if everything else is wowee eye candy.

I prefer to consider a 5 a 5 and a 6 a 6 regardless of the challenge. If there are 5 entries that I feel deserve a 10, or none, then so be it. Besides, I don't have time to evaluate each challenge a second time. Others opinions will serve to counterbalance my own.

I agree with Yo-Spiff and that's how I do it too whilst at the same time incorporating something very similar to NiallOTuama, Prash, Bassbone and JustCaree's voting breakdown.

1-Avant Garde

I'm now wondering if you were just joking around but I'm not so sure.

You would punish those who dare try something different or innovative with a one vote?

Yo_spiff, I got him, he's the one giving you all those 1's for trying new things. :)

Actually, I think he was making a point about the way the votes are usually given out by others than himself.

God, please don't vote on any of mine.
