Well I've used it quite a bit now. I love the new noise reduction--it works very well. Overall it's an improvement, but I definitely have noticed that its SLOWER now.

I think the issue is that it's very slow with a big database. I think their database architecture, which seems to be file based, is not very good. I've got everything loaded in the database, and while that's convenient, searches are too slow to be useful too. But I can verify whether the database is slowing down general operations pretty easily by creating a second smaller database, and I'll try that.

Also, before I give them my money for my upgrade, I'm going to give the latest version of Bibble a whirl. I switched from Bibble to RawShooter Pro a long time ago because Rawshooter was so fast, and bibble was so buggy. So we'll have to see if they have their act together now. It's at least a bit cheaper to upgrade for me to the latest Bibble than Lightroom.

Anyone else a former Bibble user? And has anyone else (former user or not) tried the new version?

New features, new interface, same old Bibble. Less than a 20 minutes of use, and it hung. I'm actually still waiting for Windows to terminate it. It's just stuck. Good programming as usual, guys!

(I did get one picture output with it, and it was pretty good. I found the interface awkard compared to LR though, especially the crop, which never seems to "lock in" like it does in LR. After outputing once, I cropped, tried to output to JPEG, and the rest is Hang history. Goodbye Bibble again. At least I only wasted 20 minutes on you this time!

Ok, I tried once more...this time the Pro trial (you can run either, select the one when you start.) I generated two more pics. Came out beautifully. On the third, it crashed (this time it didn't hang, I got "Bibble has stopped working"). Too bad. Results were very good.
