Ok, I think I'm out of luck, but I thought I'd ask.
I did a lot of work in photoshop. I didn't save. I resized the image and started to do a sharpen, but realized I didn't want to sharpen the whole thing, just part. So I went through and selected areas and then sharpened.
I now realized that I didn't save, so I wanted to undo back to before I resized the image and then save. When I look at my history, since it took me a number of steps to select the right area, the first command in my history is "image size", so I can go back to right after I resized, but I can't undo the resize itself.
Any way around this? Or have I just lost all my work?

| Alt+Ctrl+Z until you get back to the place you want to be if you still have not saved. |

| i'm not entirely sure but i dont think so. I can only tell you to increase the number of undos to prevent this in the future. I think mine is at 50. |

For those that don't know, this can be set in preferences (In Photoshop CS5, at least):
Edit--->Preferences--->Performance

Bear in mind that the more steps you save in history, the more the program will hog resources. Excessive history states can slow you WAY down, so you have to watch out for that.
I'm sure it's too late now, but a lot of times when you get in this pickle you can do a save as "image title v2" and then if you go back and open "image title" it will be intact as of the last time you saved it, which may or may not be useful to you, depending on how often you hit cntrl-s while working.

Thanks, guys!
Unfortunately, I rarely save until I have it right. Ridiculous, I know. I've upped my history to 50, and we'll see if it hogs too much space. Luckily, for the first time in a very long time, I was able to recreate what I had done. It's a miracle!
