I did not put an entry into the Conflict Challenge, mainly because I did not have a shot I felt was that good... meeting the challenge etc. I did not have much time to try and work on either the photograph, or the editting so I abstained. I am planning a shoot early tmw morning and hope I get the photo I want for the Silence Challenge, but I don't think I will enter just for the sake of entering. After sifting through 400 or so images (mine included) in the textures challenge, I find that my scoring becomes more stringent ie fitting the challenge. I want to be fair and score photos on their merits, but I liked the idea of having a deadline and a topic to shoot. I am pretty liberal in my interpretations (at least I think so) of meeting a challenge, but a close-up of a cute fuzzy animal (read as cat) or a bird or what have you, does not seem to fit the Conflict Challenge. It seems that defeats the greater purpose (in my view) of this site; such as, becoming better photographers. Just my thoughts as a neophyte on this site.

hear hear.. I agree with you, but you can't begrudge people their habits.. Score them how you see them. |
