I have been seeing this a lot more than normal.

When I am going through a challenge, all the same type of shots are next to each other.

Like in the Self Portrait challenge, both shots of mustached fingers where next to each other.

All the horse shots where next to each other etc.

Going through the Double take challenge and I am seeing the same thing in the line up

Sure it not just a case of double vision? Alcohol can do that.

;-)

I noticed the same thing. Figured it was just coincidence that they were placed close together, but the images are *supposed* to be presented to us randomly for voting.

When I voted, the two "moustached fingers" photos were far apart. So maybe just a coincidence?

I spot coincidences like this from time to time-- but the images are randomized, so it really is just a funny coincidence.

Simple random chance.. Nothing more.

Although I will say I've been amused at the juxtapositions that sometimes result from the random placement.

The photos are assigned in some random order for each voter. There *MAY* be some element in the algorithm (only Langdon knows how it works) which would cluster like images, but overall it is still coincidence for any particular voter.

For example, you might see two cars in a row, and I might see two birds in a row, but I'd see the cars separated and likewise you the birds.

What about turtles?

I like turtles.

Could be a high school class. I often see many shots of the same items in challenges when HS photography classes are using DPC as a learning aid. Often one can identify locations as being in a school.

I assumed it was the NYC get together.

hmm .. I believe that challenge is still under voting. I thought we were not supposed to talk about specific pictures while the voting is still going on!

Oh Ok :) didnt think of that! and vikas wasnt really talking about the image... just confused... why there was so duplicates.... im new and still learning and i forgot that classes and teams participate in here... meant to offense to anyone!

No problem, not a bad thing to ask when in doubt :)

Usually most duplicates are when photographers go out on a meetup .. we had a GTG of 26+ photographers from DPC in NYC last weekend and I was actually banking on seeing many more duplicates in the challenge.

NNNNNNNNOnonono.

What I am talking about is clusters.

I go through a challenge and all the water drop shots are in a line, one after the other.

the flowers would be in a line all together

They are taken by different photographers and are different , but they are the same theme.

So 4 water-drop shots are all in a row

2 mustache finger guys are next to each other

The photos are meant to be all jumbled up for every person that votes. And they are:

But I get clusters of the same theme of shot next to each other and they are not randomly organzied

was next to this one

this was next to this one was next to those ones to this one

was next to this

This pattern is happening in every challenge i look at on my screen

Maybe langdon is just messing with your head.

It's either a coincidence or it means the same thing as Deja Vu meant in "The Matrix".

I think you guys are looking at the Photo Domino pages.

I have noticed this for years. Far to often to be just a coincidence.

You may be onto something - I just checked one of the current challenges and counted at least 7 church images in a row.

I haven't noticed two photos in a row, but I've two similar things in the same photo. Over and over again.

I had four or five birds in a row while voting on the Free Study.
