After having my first SLR for a little over a week, I'm curious to know how you people feel I'm progressing? Any thoughts or critisizing will be very welcomed... Thanks, Sorry to post whore... thanks again. The rest of the photos are here: //figz.com/~deters/photos//index.php?dirarg=20040228 I thought these were the best. All of these have not been altered at all, straight out of the camera.

i think shot C2 (i'll let you figure out the code :) ) could be quite interesting with a little cropping and adjusting. a nice sort of abstract, action.... or abstract urban shot. i think i like shots likethat quite a bit. little gems that we pass by every day.. that can make great photos if we stop and look.

Yeah... i was walking and a train came... so i stopped and noticed that little no parking sign...

I really like the water dribbling out of the broken pipe, I think that's a really neat shot :)

I also like the way you composed the water one. This one holds your interest.

The main thing when taking a picture is too find something when composing an image that will hold the interest of the viewer. Leading lines, color, textures, etc all play a part in getting the viewer interested.
