I wish we were still posting the challenge results it was always helpful for me to see how everyone was doing.

Hey gang. The lack of updates is because of a perfect storm of issues, both technical and personal, which have kept me from keeping from both a functional script and time to make posts. I am working on solving these problems, but it may be awhile yet. |

Before people get too worried about me, let me assure you that we're all in good health, employed, and still a reasonably happy family. I've just been overwhelmed with parent duties while my wife is in residency, trying to give both kids the attention they deserve, and still get work done at work. On the technical side, the version of the script engine I was using on my domain changed, and my script no longer functions. Python isn't my "native" language, so it has not been trivial to make it work right.
My goal is to get enough of the results generation automated, so that even if I'm lacking in time someone else can get the results and post them in our forums. If I do this right, I'll have results for all of the challenges I've missed available too. |

Way cool Rob, I know what it's like to try and balance everything and still try to keep up in your hobby too. Keep it real.
All the best to you and yours.

Kids are WAY more important than DPC. Getting the right shoe size is more important than DPC. In the era of DPL, watching paint dry is far more entertaining and less stressful than DPC. |

Not to mention that a stubbed toe or a canker sore is a lot less demoralizing than the DPL as well.

Hey guys lets not forget that I actually won my first ribbon durning the DPL and another one during the break, so if I can do it anyone can. This team and the support I got from all of you via comments and help picking images is how I've stepped up in my photography. Not to mention all the friends I've made on team suck and the ones I've met and all the ones I have still to meet.
Now I have no ideas what so ever for peanuts and other art form.... suggestions??

Glad to hear all is well. Your absence has been noticed, but figured you were busy with life. |

LOL! I have given up shooting thanks to the DPL! Am I ever glad it's over. I've sold all my gear and will now get on with the rest of my life.
I will still offer comments and encouragement and will vote the occasional challenge and stuff.

Jeb, I was just trying to boost moral like others have done for me in the past (yourself included) I hardly think it merited a brow beating. I welcomed your success and everyone else on team suck and I was just trying to give back.
Deb, you sold all your gear?? How sad for us as we will miss your photography :(

Well I had a photo open with a 10.0, going down 6.2, and down 5.5, now 5.2 after hitting 5.1, I have found free study more relaxing and easier than DPL, jealous type of voting that appears to have happened is demoralizing.

It wasn't a brow beating, and there's another examploe of why I've been frustrated here. People just assume I mean things in the worst possible way.
I don't......I hadn't posted in the last few days, and really didn't feel like it much, but I could really resonate with Deb.
I said I appreciated the thought, but I guess you missed that.
I need to stop posting, apparently.

Jeb if you said that you appreciated the thought I'm sorry I missed it and I went back to your OP to see it and you have removed it.
Sorry if I offended you that was NEVER my intention. I love team suck and all the support that I have received over my time here both photography related and with my personal life.
This site is everything it is to me because we (team suck) support each other. And it's sad to see people go. *sniff* Deb is it to late to get your gear back?

Well, I sold it to a guy - the whole lot in a brown moving box - for $26.37. He doesn't have a permanent address so he might be hard to track down.... I suppose I could try to find him and offer him $50 if he took good care of it....
(You guys don't SERIOUSLY think I would have sold my gear, do you? I may suck, but by gosh I do love my stupid little hobby.) |

You had me going for a bit Deb. But then, you could make some really awesome shots with those little disposable digital cams they have these days. Be a lot easier to pack on your trip to NYC ;-) |

One of my DPL teammates said it had ribbon potential. The fact that the potential was brown was not specified. :-)

Wasn't gonna bother, but hey this is my second highest score in DPL so far! The highest didn't make the halfway point.
The favs are from teammates who feel kinda sorry for me, I think. :-) Most of the comments are too. |
