Well, I haven't been around in ages cause I finally sent my camera in to Nikon to have it repaired a couple weeks ago. The CCD developed a one pixel wide stripe of dead pixels from smack in the center of the frame down to the bottom. I got it back today....

And nothing's changed.

I can't believe they would keep it for that long and NOT actually fix the problem. I included a letter with the camera explaining the problem. The invoice I got back with it said they'd adjusted the automatic white balance and did some "general checking and cleaning". How they expected that to help I have NO idea.

These are the images I shot with it today upon it's return:

Taken at ISO 100, 200, 400 and 800 respectively. How they could've missed that I don't know.

So they said they'll send me a prepaid UPS label to send it back... again.... and I guess I just cross my fingers and hope I get it back REPAIRED before going to Europe on April 1.

Man I've missed having my camera with me. I can't believe I have to go through it all over again. I feel like I lost my dog!!!

Maybe also include the picture with the line highlighted or circled with a red pen.

I would make a big deal on the telephone about it and request they send you a replacement camera until yours is ready. It's done with printers.

That sucks beyond belief. I'd make a big stink about this one.

Yeah I was pretty shocked about it. I would have expected the people in their digital imaging service department to know something about digital imaging :D
