Hello All,
I'm hoping to get a little help here. I'm constantly searching the web and such, but you all are always so helpful.
I plan on going on my honeymoon next summer to St. Lucia (//www.thejalousieplantation.com/). I currently have my Nikon D90 and my Fiance and I will be getting our Advanced Scuba Certifications this summer. We plan on being in the water daily on our 10-day trip. I would like some suggestions on some underwater housings, filters, and/or lighting options. I know I will need a wide angle lens, any options on that would be awesome as well, since I currently do not have one. I already told her I'll be spending a bit to get the stuff, but it's not like that will be the only time I use it. She currently has an cheap underwater P&S, but I really want to be able to come back from our honeymoon with some amazing photos. I'm sort of worried about the lighting, as there is a ship wreck and some other stuff we want to see, but I'm sure the reef type stuff I might not need the lighting as it will be sort of shallow.
Are there any places I could rent underwater housing and such from?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Check out Clark Little's web site. Great water photographer and info on housing products he uses. //www.clarklittlephotography.com/ BTW, congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Just as a quick aside -- we did the St. Lucia honeymoon also... BEST HONEYMOON PLACE ON EARTH. Just sayin'.
We stayed at Sandals -- haven't heard of The Jalousie Plantation -- but we've been scraping together anything we can to go back one day. Just... AWESOME. We don't SCUBA, but we went snorkeling almost every day (and wished we could SCUBA!). You'll love it. Love it, love it, love it. Look forward to seeing your photos when you return. |

In terms of lighting I think a strobe will be useful even at the shallower depths. It doesn't take much water to cut the light down. |
