Does anyone have a 'go back' set up and what kinds of things do you have in yours?
Baring camera equipment that you would take in or out of your camera bag, what else do you take with you on a shoot? What kinds of things do you leave in the car for emergencies, etc.?

I go on commercial shoots a few times every week for real estate purposes. I also often use these ouotings to take DPC challenge shots. I bring the following (life-savers are in bold type):
2 camera bodies (5Dm2 & 550D)
2 flashes
10-22, 16-35, 50mm, 135mm, 24-105
Polarizer filter
Neutral gradient density filter (use it once in a while when the sky is very bright)
lens cloth
hand-squeeze dust blower (to blow off sensor dust if required)
extra flash batteries
tripod
20 ft telescopic carbon pole with release shutter in case I need the height to either shoot over obstacles or for better angle. Looks like a gigantic monopod! :)
pocket wizards so I can place flashes in other rooms if required.
extra CF card is always in the bag in case I forget to bring my primary card
grey card for setting color balance
Light meter
Small portable softbox - I LOVE this!!! works great and was fairly cheap (approx USD500 here in Norway - probably half in the US). Folds up to a tiny package in less than a minute.

Was actually talking about what kinds of things do you take on a shoot OTHER THAN photography equipment.
I am new to both this site and going out on shoots so am trying to figure out what kinds of things I need to take along. Bug spray, sun screen, change, and band-aides come to mind but still am unsure what else to take. I want to pack a bag that I can leave in the car or by the back door to go on the spur of the moment and not worry that I don't have something I might want. We live in Texas where bugs, sun and heat are factors in how comfortable and when we go out.
I am NOT trying to over plan but still need to remember stuff that I might need. I tend to be VERY forgetful and we have been out on a shoot already and there was something I wish I had thought of taking . But if the bag is packed and I have thought things out well then what I want should be in the back already.

They have a variety of uses, including as flash diffusers, but they can be used to filter sand, silt and grit from water before you use the iodine. |
