Not being able to play anything but taping on a tabletop is one (out of many) frustations. ;)
But I trully enjoy music. Really. And I'm hearing some good pieces here. I'll buy the first ticket for the jam cynthiann's proposing... who's next?

i play guitar. well sort of. wouldn't classify my self as a muscian - maybe some day.
though if you saw the living room you might think i knew what i was doing...
they need to come out with an xbox game that allows you to use a real guitar. and actually play it ;}
though if you have rockband for PS3 and electronic drums, you can patch those to the game.

OK, how about an early Summer '09 DPC jamfest? There are plenty of cornfields here in Kentucky that I can get us permission to use for a weekend (we can bring tents). There's one in particular that is across the street from a small strip of motels, but any other more convenient suggestions would be cool.
c'mon, let's get together and party like it's 1969!
Let's get a list of potential locations and vote on which one is best.

I have been a musician since I was around 12, I play Bass mainly but can blag out guitar and drums, I can get notes out of keyboard, sax, trumpet.
Done a fair bit of work with some fairly well known people and I still play in 2 bands and run a recording studio (very small one) and also have a studio in Japan in boxes :(
Music and playing music was the main thing that got me through a 'difficult' childhood and has been there as a comfort all my life.
What might be a good bit of fun would be to get a few musicians of DPC and make a track using Logic pro by sending the files around the world for people to add their bit until we have a full blown song...
I would be happy to do the bass and any BVs too if there is any interest |

Let's revive this thread...
I play the violin, and have been playing since I was 6½. I also enjoy arranging music for different ensembles than what the originals were written for - this includes a couple arrangements of rock songs for string quartets which I can't find, and an arrangement of the original Pokemon Red/Blue music (Gameboy) for trio/quartet that I got tired of working on about halfway through (I really should finish that). |

I'm also a musician. Piano and trombone are my primary instruments, though I have dabbled in a few others as well.
I play piano just for myself.
I played in the New Haven Civic Orchestra as well as Counterpoint Big Bands (jazz) for quite a few years until we moved to another part of the state. Now, I just play trombone for community theatre groups, which I actually find more enjoyable and challenging than the orchestra and jazz band. |

I sing and I still play a little piano, guitar and want to learn the violin. I've played trumpet in school and got stuck playing various other instruments when there was a need, lol. (Baritone sax, french horn, drums (and them made me march, too)). My girlfriend and I played daily for years, but got away from it as we got older. Really getting back into it again and wondering why I ever quit! |

I have a degree in music education, so technically, I can play about anything with varying degrees of success.
My principal was trumpet, but I also performed some with french horn, trombone, and saxophone.
Piano and guitar elude me to this day. I guess I can't use more than one hand at a time. |

Been playing guitar for 25 years. All gigs have been solo acts in my room or even my closet !
I just went to a father/daughter donut breakfast at school. One of the 10yr old girls had a "Daisy" guitar...which is actually a pretty "fair" guitar. She was strumming and singing. I asked her if I could try it out. I went through a few penta-scales and slides and the kids thought I was Eddie Van Halen....Hhahaha....oh well at least I can put one gig in my book ! |

I've been playing guitar for 30+ years. Have played the club scene, done studio work, taped for TV etc. These days I mainly teach private students. I also play fretless bass and keyboards. My favorite music includes: Pat Metheny, Alan Holdsworth and Led Zeppelin. This week I've been listening to a lot of Jeff Beck. |
