| Have any of you owners of this camera found difficulty with PS elements accepting Raw files? I have not been able to download RAW files into PS. I checked for plug-ins and they are for the Rebel T1i |

| Your camera is a new model that Adobe doesn't support yet. |

That doesn't make me feel so good. Canon said that I must use their software to view and edit(with their program) my RAW images. I hope this changes soon. BTW the camera takes some pretty sweet images. |

It will change soon, Count on it. In the meanwhile, you'll do fine with Canon's DPP for your RAW processing and subsequent export to Photoshop.

| It shouldn't be too long. Apple already supports that camera at the system level, and Adobe's usually first. |

| I'll be looking forward to the updated plug-ins. No doubt Adobe wants to support this type of file. |

| On a vaguely related note, anyone know what the deal with availability is? I see kits available now, but the body only seems like it's not available anywhere yet? Or is it just massively backordered? |

Camera Raw 5.7 supports the RAW files from the T2/550D:

You'll need CS4 or newer to use the new plugin, of course.

| Both Lightroom 2 and CS4 works great for me with the T2i. I updated both of the apps a few days ago. |

Unfortunately I am working with basic software. Elements 7. I am considering getting CS5 through a friend who is a teacher. It is much more program than I need. Perhaps there will be a plug in for my version of PS soon. I can get PS Elements 8 from a new computer software package, but I doubt that will help with this issue. To freakin_hilarious, it would not surprise me that this is a marketing ploy, makes sense. I ended up buying the kit. The 18-55 IS lens is better than the 18-55 non IS I got with my first Rebel. |

You certainly don't need to move to CS5 to get Adobe's updated RAW processing. You *do* need the latest version of Elements. Aedobe will not release a plug-in for your version of Elements. What happens is, when Adobe starts shipping a new version of it's software, be that Ps or Elements, further releases of the RAW converter are not backward compatible with the previous version. SO if you buy a camera that is newer, you will need to upgrade to get to a compatible version of the RAW converter.
This situation will persist as long as camera manufacturers insist on using proprietary RAW formats.
