Whoever is dropping all these low votes must be looking at a different challenge to me. There are some lovely images and I shall enjoy this once I start voting (got to go to work soon).

You are correct. I failed to read the description completely. I will vote on those fairly, according to fitting the description. Can't speak for everyone else.

I love b&W and there are some stunning images in the field.
Oddly (and I'm not complaining, my ave score just went up .3 as someone changed their mind. Just Cr-A-A-A-Z-Y! 'night kids...

Same here. no increase in votes. same number of votes received but went up by 0.3. Guess somebody raised their scores. Thank you Mr./Ms. Stranger.

I personally think people just don't like black and white. They like popping color.


Take a look at the front page, and then the challenge archives sometime. There is always a high percentage of black and white photos that take the ribbons. If people didn't like B&W that certainly wouldn't be the case.

As long as they are few in a challenge, it is well received, but when the entire lot is black and white, those stunning ones turns out to be boring.. atleast to many of the voters.

I wouldn't be voting on this challenge.

Anyone else going to give this a try? I noticed that since DPL has started and the number of entries has skyrocketed, the number of comments has gone down a bit.

This is gonna be a tough challenge. I love B&W landscapes... I actually went hiking to try and enter this challenge but I wasn't happy with the shot.

Start a separate side challenge thread -- usually you get more people that way. 38, huh? hmmm... I'll give it a shot this week.
