Are you using a flatbed scanner or one of those "new" small feed-type scanners? A friend got one of those new small ones that scan up to 5x7 and I didn't think the scans were that great, but yours look very good.

FWIW I took the negatives to Costco and had them scanned (approximately the same resolution as a 6MP camera) and saved to archival CD for less than $5.
