| I have been planning to buy a portable flash for quite some time. This Sigma one claims to sync with E-TTL of Canon EOS series though in the test shots took all the pictures were consistently underexposed. I don't the budget for Canon speed lite like 530 EXII so I am wondering whether to go with Sigma or stick to 430 EX which is less powerful and more expensive |

If E-TTL is important to you then I would advise sticking with the same brand as your camera in regards to flashes. Even if it does work now it may not in the future when you upgrade your camera. Case in point, my 3 year old Sigma 500 DG Super was fully compatible with the Canon 20D but when I upgraded to the Canon 5DMKII it wouldn't work at all except off-camera in manual mode, which in my situation is fine because that's how I normally use it.

| Besides E-TTL, is 500 DG better than 430EX in terms of power and recycle time |
