Less than 5 years ago I took this image of Kita...she was 7 years old.
Many of you have watched her grow over the years.
This weekend our town had our annual Sunflower Festival. Kita travelled through the parade on one of the floats and I have to say....she is grown up. She is still only 12...but to me she looks grown up. She wears my clothes now which makes it fun when I have to raid her bedroom for my clothes....grrrr...but she has great taste so makes shopping so much more enjoyable.
Anyway here are some photos taken 2 days ago.

Kita is beautiful, both on the inside and out. I have read her poem and watched her grow over the years. You must be so proud of her and of the beautiful young woman she has become. Kudos to you mom for a job well done. |

Thankyou Jennifer. Her personality is so unlike someone of her age. She doesn't succumb to peer pressure and loves helping people. In fact, she is down at my neighbours place helping them to clean the house after they moved out.

She's a beautiful and awesome young lady from all my distant observations, Judi. Pat yourself on the back. |

She has decided that she won't be cutting her hair and when she is in her 20's she is going to get it cut off and donated to the breast cancer foundation to raise money for their needs.
Now...as for 16 years old.....thank goodness I have 3 years to get myself ready...lmao!

Good for her! My now-26 year old daughter has done that several times now. Her hair grows pretty quickly so she lets it get long and then finds a hairdresser that participates in the Locks for Love program and gets it lopped off. It says a lot about your daughter and the person she is becoming that she even thinks about things like this at her age. Personally, I never wanted to take too much credit when my kids did something wonderful for fear that I would then have to take a lot of blame when they were bad. So congrats to BOTH of you for building a beautiful person :-) |

Thankyou Mary. I don't take credit for my children either...they are their own spirits and they have come a long way. If it wasn't within their nature and personality and ability, they wouldn't have come as far as they have, no matter what help was offered.

Yesterday, I just took some volunteer and practice photos of tateTate Davidson's daughter Ada. I remember not too long a go I told him "Tell your wife to have her on April 9th, that's my birthday, too", and she did have their 1st daughter born on my Birthday. That was Five years ago!
I'm sure you've recorded those years with a "few" pictures.

I was thinking the same thing when you posted the last pictures, She is so beautiful, body and soul. I cannot even imagine when I get to see Amira (my 8 months old daughter) turned in to a young ladie like Kita. Congrats Judi, she is an amazing kid, but I'm sure you already knew that! |
