I love the enthusiasm! :-)

Just one word of caution...DPL2 hasn't started yet officially so I'd hold off on sharing photo links until we have photos for the first DPL2 challenge week. I suppose you could, but you may not want to vote on images that you know who it belongs to. Once the season gets started you won't be able to vote on challenge entries of team members...they'll show up at the end of the challenge entry thumbs.

As Rich pointed out, once DPL2 gets going we will have a private thread for discussion and to share photos for feedback. It will work like a regular DPChallenge forum thread and you can post workshop images (that are not accessible thru your profile/portfolio page). Won't need a Flickr group, etc...

Tammy - Here's the pirate emoticon ==>

You can right-click/save-as and put it in your workshop, or just Google "pirate emoticon" (sorry I don't have the link immediately handy from where I found it).

Facebook is to public for me...I don't think you can have private albums can you...I would prefer Flickr...if we can have a "private" page...Rich...how about the yahoo thingie...I think that aol has something now as well...not sure...

so we won't have to load up to the workshop?...it will be a "special" private pirate thread...arrrgh there she blows...

Barry, I think that's a good idea. Waiting until the thread is created is good and less work. Not everyone has Flicr, facebook, etc...Sample pics on this thread with commenting just to get sharing might be a compromise? Much like a "Pirates" side challenge :) Anyway, just my thoughts...

You load to your workshop, then can post into the private thread.

You can also share images NOW via the PM system. Just send the PM to Pirate team members...team members can reply to all with comments, etc... You can post a link, a thumbnail, or even insert an image (just like a forum post).

So we can post to our workshop and then email the link to multiple team members through the pm system. I do like that idea.

I look foward to getting feedback from you guys on my challenge entries before I submit them. Sometimes I feel so confused as to which one to post (or how to process).

Having fun with my children entry now.

THANKS! (hope this works)

I'm just tossing out a couple of ideas/thoughts from past experience - not really advocating anything specifically.

That's Rich's department. :-)

Hi Team!

Hope everyone had an awesome Easter. Glad to be part of the Pirates - I'm totally partial to the whole pirate thing. Arrr!

Looking forward to this season. It's always inspirational and motivational to be on a team. I hope we can all support each other with honest feedback and input.

Yay Pirates!

Looking back and noticed I have not properly introduced myself in filling out the ship's manifest:-)

Originally a native Californian but moved to the eastern shores of Florida bout' a decade ago. I am happily married to my husband going on up to 16 years in July. We have two lovely and happy children. I've always had a creative element in my nature beginning at a very early age. In my teen years, I found a way to voice my artistic vision and observations through photography and writing. I had originally wanted to work in the film industry but, back then, woman rarely achieved being a Film Director...so I poured my energies into my photography, writing, and getting a major in English Lit/minor in Media Communications with an application for a teaching credential. I've worked in the magazine publishing field, a school textbook company for a short time, and payroll processing company in my years prior to becoming a Mom. My art and writing took a back seat for a time as I focused primarily on family. Eight years ago my husband introduced me to an art website and there I rediscovered my creative muse once again. I walked into DPC's doorstep in 2005 am a happy resident enjoying the journey of learning, sharing, and growing in photography.

Boy did I write quite a bit. Glad I didn't say all that in one breath or I'd be blue;-) O.K. now off to swab the deck!

Team Creation Period: Apr. 3rd, 2010 - Apr. 11th, 2010
Regular Season Rounds: Apr. 12th, 2010 - Jun. 1st, 2010
Mid-Season Break: May. 3rd, 2010 - May. 9th, 2010
Season Playoffs: Jun. 7th, 2010 - Jul. 11th, 2010

Does this mean that the challenges that are in the voting process count towards the season?

For example... The "waiting" challenge --- Voting Dates: Apr. 7th 2010 - Apr. 13th 2010

I think that it will start next Sunday "- April 12th, first round begins " taken from Langdon's announcement. So whatever challenge (advanced) is announced tonight will begin the madness...that will be the first challenge of the DPL2...I think

O.k. I posted that same question into the DPL2 thread to because I figured it was a good enough question that other people might be asking themselves that too. I'll see if they verify that for sure on that thread.
