I'll follow Tammster's lead and introduce myself. I am from North Central Indiana, a lot of farming in this area. Just recently I bought my Canon 40d, so I am still learning it's capabilities. I have CS2 and Elements 8 for PP but I am not the best at that. I work for the Post Office as a carrier and my camera usually travels with me everywhere because you never know...
Anyway, thanks again for the invite!!!

I will be next to introduce myself.
Name is Marko Brutus and I live in Florida. I am in college at the moment studying business administration with an emphasis on marketing. I grew up in Lake Worth (this is located in the West Palm Beach area). I attend Warner University in Lake Wales (Polk County area). I picked up my first camera about 3 years ago and could not stop. A little point and shoot my mom gave me gave me some good shots but it wasn't until I raised enough money to buy my D40 that I got REALLY addicted. I can't wait to have fun with this team!
Well... I guess that is it! :)
Happy shooting and thanks for the add!!!

Whoever has yet to tell us which post processing software they are currently using, could you please post that at some point in this thread. It would be greatly appreciated.
Also, once the private thread opens up and the actual league begins, we will be able to share our photos with each other to help try to better our final products for the challenges. Please remember to post your editing steps into the comments of the version you are loading into your workshop to share with the team. It will give others a better place to start from when we try to give some advice to edit the photos. |

Hey Marko, Seeing you are still in College, you may want to look into getting the Student version of photoshop that Adobe offers, its usually pretty cheap like 100 bucks.
Just a suggestion you could look into if your current situation can swing it. |

I don't have the money right now (attending a 20k school is not fun) However as soon as I could squeeze some money away into a separate account I will do so.

Yes we can have up to 10.
if you look down the bottom of the thread I have been keeping it updated to who is current and who the invite is currently out to.
Barry and Joe are both offical, I have invited liberty and simms to join us as well and I am waiting on their responses for the 9th and 10th spots respectively.

Is there someone on the free agent list that you think that we should be targeting? In case of either of them turning us down, PM me the name. |

Yea, but I was gonna ask after we got everything together if we wanted to create a new one or go with the current one. But we can discuss that now. |

Wow, that's so close to me! It's been a while since I've gone to the LW beach. I've been meaning to go to take some pictures of the pier at sunrise/sunset one of these days.
Do you come back to visit? If so, please let me know in advance & we can set up a photoshoot. |

I just finished up my masters last December and my goal was that before I finished the two year program I would buy CS4. The student version of the extended CS4 cost $195 instead of over $800. I highly recommend you doing whatever you can to save up that money before you graduate because the savings is just insane. However, it might be worth you waiting until CS5 comes out (soon!).
Elements is about $100 (no discount for students that I know of) and CS4 is $200. I don't think you'd regret the extra $100. I know, I know... I was definitely a poor college student back in the day but this is really a great investment if you're a serious photographer. Because after you graduate and you lose the discount, the $800 investment may be out of reach for MANY years. |

Tammster, Where exactly do you live? I normally do not come down because of volleyball however during the summer I believe I will be getting a job down there. Maybe during the summer we can get together! :)

Well, I live out in the acreage (about 1/2 hour west of Palm Beach) and I work in West Palm, near I-95 and Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. I have lived in Lake Worth, Palm Springs & Greenacres so I know the area pretty well.
I started a photography group on meetup.com last August and we have about 150 members now. Once a month we meet at a different location in PB County somewhere and just take pictures. If you give me enough notice I can plan a meetup around your trip down here. We're going to Flagler Museum for April. |
