A few views of the rugged, remote ranching country of southeast Oregon...

All images were taken using the Canon EF 16-35mm F/2.8L II USM on 2/28/2010.

Very cool looking. How do you get the killer skies in these landscape? Are you using a polarizer?

Yes, all these images were taken with a Schneider slim C-POL polarizer. I almost always use a polarizer and often make shot selections based on angle with the sun. It is pretty much automatic to adjust polarization in a shot before I do anything else. :) The higher the altitude the deeper the blue in the sky and a lot of places I photograph are pretty high up.

ETA: I keep staring at that third one and it's getting me dizzier and dizzier...
